Festive season is just around the corner and although we have kids we still young and funky and we wanna have fun. However, this becomes a huge problem most of the time because we don't go about it 'responsibly'.Yes, we have a right to go out and have fun because we are young but we also have a responsibility to look out for our kids.
I've heard really horrible stories about what young mothers do in order to go out. Some lock their babies alone in their rooms and people would hear a shrieking cry of a baby only to realize that the mother is not there. Others would ask you to hold their baby pretending that they are quickly dashing out and will be back soon only to come back the next day and you end up taking care of the child the whole night.
I always ask myself, what does your child think about you while he/she is locked up in that room crying their lungs out? What kind of parent does that make you?
My fellow young parents, I urge you to be responsible. Make arrangements with someone to look after your kid while you are out partying. I am sure there is a sister, aunt, mother, grandmother or even a friend who would be willing to help you out. Also make some time to spend with your kids, they need to have fun with their parents too. If you don't take care of your child, who will? BE RESPONSIBLE!
