Temper Tantrums

We all have bad days every now and again and toddlers are no exception. The only way toddlers know how to express their anger and frustration is by throwing temper tantrums. They do this in various ways like kicking and screaming, throwing things around or even hitting other people.

My nephew had a very strange tendency when he was a toddler. Whenever he got angry or if things did not go his way he would run crying, throw himself down and bite the ground. I used to find this very amusing and would sometimes rub him the wrong way intentionally just to watch him do this, I didn't know any better.
As much as temper tantrums are normal there are some warning signs you should look out for as a parent. These could concern your child's mental health and quality of life.Wakschlag says temper tantrum signs that could indicate a red flag are:
 * Your child's temper tantrums seem to come out of the blue.
 * Temper tantrums that last longer than five minutes.
 * Tantrums that are physical (hurting himself/herself or others and breaking things)
 * A pattern of extreme temper tantrums

Nancy Gottesman on her blog, New Parent Advises that if you spot these signs you should seek help. Speak to your pediatrician who may recommend a child behaviour specialist. Learn more tantrums

Memories

Babies and toddlers make the cutest and funniest things ever. As a parent you want to keep these memories whether you take pictures or record videos. Imagine a video of your baby walking for the very first time or a photo album showing pictures from the early baby days to toddler days. Those are very precious memories and no parent ever wants to lose them. We might keep these memories in our smart phones, computers, memory sticks and so forth but problem is, none of these storage devices are reliable. Phones die on us everyday and computers crash so what do we do?

I know I have the cutest pictures and videos of my son that I cherish very much and never want to lose but I have lost some already and it is devastating. These are the little things that cheer me up when I'm down and they help me out when I'm away from my boy and missing him. I watch him singing and dancing then all my pain is gone. It would be really nice to have these pictures and videos and show them to our kids when they are all grown up, just imagine what their reaction would be. So tell me fellow young parents, how do we keep the memories of our nunus alive?baby steps

About me

Parenting is very hard job to do especially when you are young and you have your future ahead to prepare for. I have learnt this the hard way. I fell pregnant with my baby boy when I was only 20 years old. I was not studying or working at that time but as soon as I gave birth I knew I had to make a move. I had to leave my baby when he was only three months old to go and work. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do but I had no choice because I had to support and provide for my baby. Fortunately for me I had a very strong support system. My family and my baby daddy were wonderful and they helped me out a lot, they still do. Not all of us are that fortunate. My child is now almost five years old and as hard as the journey of parenting is I am enjoying every moment of it and am looking forward to many more years of taking care of my child. I am now studying trying to secure a better future for me and my child.

Welcome to my blog

This is a blog for us young parents to share our experiences about having children at a young age. It is a plattform for us to express our feelings, give each other advice on how to go about caring for our children and share the funny and cute pictures and videos of our kids. This blog caters for both moms and dads.
